All new TruckX!

TruckX is growing bigger and bigger - and this year Africa's premier forum for the commercial transport industry, sponsored by Standard Bank and Ctrack by Inseego, aims to strengthen the way in which decision makers receive the insights that help them to keep the wheels of commerce turning.

To be held on July 12 and 13, the event will be joined by two other major shows - FleetX and IMHX - each of importance to sectors of the transport industry.  The three events have been designed to offer extensive networking opportunities over the two-day programme.

DAY ONE, JULY 12, sees TruckX's conference and show open with a powerhouse line-up of speakers and exhibits, from fleet cars and light commercials to heavy and extra heavy vehicles, many of which will be available for test drives around Kyalami's handling track.

Importantly, Eicher - a joint development between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors - has chosen the event to unveil its Pro Series truck in South Africa, the first time the vehicle will be seen here.

Vehicle displays will be supported by exhibits from a variety of service providers, among them tanker and trailer manufacturers; tyre suppliers; parts distributors; telematics, insurance and finance providers; fuel and lubricant companies; refrigerated transport specialists; driver training and road safety advisers and fleet service experts.

While entrance to the expo is free, the conference costs R995 to attend, including lunch, with speakers such as Tony Smallwood, Vodacom's Executive Head of IoT Solutions in South Africa; Kate Stubbs, Managing Executive of Business Development & Marketing at Barloworld Logistics; Adrian van Tonder, Chairman of the Road Transport Management System and Adrian Velaers, Sasol's Senior Technical Advisor, lined up to address issues which challenge the commercial transport sector.

DAY TWO, JULY 13, will be devoted to representatives of the fleet industry with a conference agenda that will follow a format similar to that of the previous day's programme. Speakers include Brand Pretorius, retired Chief Executive of McCarthy Limited; Ben Theron, Chief Operations Officer of OUTA; Craig Parker, Programme Manager for Mobility at Frost & Sullivan and Simphiwe Nghona, Head of Group Vehicle and Asset Finance at Standard Bank.
